Electric scooter startup, Fujiyama is ramping up production of its e-scooters and has committed Rs. 150 crore in 3 phases to build a state-of-the-art plant at their facility in the UNA district of Himachal Pradesh.
The facility will have the capacity to produce 20,00,000 units annually that includes in-house production of motors, controllers, batteries, and all the structural components that are required in a vehicle.
The company intends to establish three more manufacturing facilities by FY 24-25 in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh with a 60,00,000-unit annual production capacity.
Fujiyama Group has a revenue of over 1400 crore. In the first year of incorporation in 2022, the brand generated 7 crores of revenue, meanwhile, in Q3 the performance was excellent with 800 per cent growth.
Till now, the company has sold 20,000+ units of electric scooter.
Udit Agrawal, CEO of Fujiyama, said, "As one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, India will almost certainly see a surge in the number of electric two-wheelers in the coming years. Two-wheelers will serve as an essential bridge between smaller villages and towns and cities, while also improving quality of life by promoting environmental sustainability."
Fujiyama has 26 years of OEM experience in the automotive sector and the electric vehicle segment and has signed agreements to open 45 new showrooms in March 2023, bringing the total number of dealers in India to around 140. By the conclusion of FY 24, Fujiyama will have a presence in around 250 of India's 660 districts, taking a total tally of 500+ showrooms by the end of the fiscal year.
On the company's future product plans, Agarwal said," We are working on some very exciting concepts. Next year, we will launch the e-loader, commercial 3-wheelers, and Motorcycle segment."
In the coming few months, the company is planning to launch two e-bikes -- a classic e-scooter, which costs Rs. 69,999 with a range of up-to 160 km, and a motorcycle which would cost Rs. 99,999.
The company covers PAN India and has 8 offices across the country. Having a registered office in Japan's Okinawa, the company also exports to Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya and plans to establish offices there.
