Euler Motors, an Indian electric commercial vehicle manufacturing startup, has launched two new electric cargo vehicles, Storm EV LongRange 200 and Storm EV T1250, marking its entry into the four wheeled (4W) Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment. Both models, designed for intercity and intracity cargo transport, promise to revolutionise the market with innovative features and price parity with internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts.

The Storm EV Models

Storm EV LongRange 200, the intercity model, is the first in its segment to offer a real range of 200 kilometers, enabling cargo mobility between nearby cities, such as Delhi to Jaipur or Chennai to Vellore. Designed for long hauls, it comes equipped with CCS fast charging, delivering a 100-kilometer range in 15 minutes of charging. The vehicle’s 10-foot body length and 330 cubic feet volumetric capacity make it capable of handling large cargo volumes, while the 8-leaf rear suspension ensures smoother transport.

For urban deliveries, Euler Motors offers the Storm EV T1250, designed for dense and regular loads within city limits. Boasting a real range of 140 kilometers, the T1250 features an 8.2-foot body length and up to 260 cubic feet of volumetric capacity. Its DC001 fast-charging protocol enables a 100-kilometer range in 30 minutes. The T1250 is available in two variants, including an armoured version with a 4mm armoured skateboard chassis for denser materials like mortar and cylinders.

Industry-First ADAS for the LCV Segment

Euler Motors has introduced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in the LCV segment, an industry first. The Night Vision Assist (NVA), front, and reverse camera collision alert systems. NVA’s ability to detect obstacles in pitch darkness allows for extended driving hours, crucial for meeting tight delivery schedules.

With safety at the forefront, the ADAS system also offers traffic light alerts and enhances on-road safety by providing drivers with real-time information on their surroundings.

The vehicles introduce 11 new segment-first features, many of which are uncommon even in ICE LCVs.

Key features include:

  • Real Range of 200 kms (in Storm EV LongRange 200 only)
  • 4 mm Tubular Box Armoured Chassis (in Storm EV T1250 only)
  • 8- Semi Elliptical Leaf Springs with Roll Arrest Bar
  • Active Liquid Cooled Battery by AR200
  • ADAS
  • Night Vision Assist
  • Front camera collision sensors
  • Digital Lock
  • 24*7 CCTV monitoring
  • Infotainment system
  • Extended Warranty of 7 years

The Storm EV LongRange 200 is priced at ₹12.99 lakh (ex- showroom, Delhi), while the Storm EV T1250 is priced competitively at ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Euler Motors is also offering an industry-first extended 7-year / 2.0 lakh kms warranty.

Saurav Kumar, Founder and CEO of Euler Motors, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating, “Customers want to maximise earnings without paying a massive premium over ICE vehicles. Not only does Storm EV deliver price parity with its ICE counterparts, but it also beats them by offering capabilities and design that exceed performance, efficiency, and safety benchmarks.” Kumar emphasized that the Storm EV will play a significant role in accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the LCV segment, which currently accounts for only 1.1 per cent of the market.

Additional Highlights of Storm EV LongRange 200 and Storm EV T1250

  • Liquid Cooled Battery: Powered by ArcReactorTM 200 technology, this system ensures optimal battery performance, even in extreme weather conditions, and extends battery life.
Vapour Compression Engine: Dedicated thermal management for the battery.
Skateboard Chassis: Equipped with suspension bushes to absorb micro-vibrations, offering superior stability.
  • ADAS-enabled Shepherd App: A dedicated app for vehicle tracking, maintenance alerts, and theft prevention, including a single-tap digital lock system and 24/7 CCTV monitoring.
  • Regenerative Braking: Enhances vehicle efficiency by using kinetic energy to recharge the battery during operation.
  • The Chimera Infotainment System: Another segment-first, integrates navigation, vehicle alerts, and entertainment into a seamless in-cabin experience, complete with WhatsApp integration for map data and a 7- or 10-inch display.
  • Driving Modes and All-Terrain Capabilities: The Storm EV offers three distinct driving modes: Range for maximising distance, Thunder for speed and overtaking, and Rhino, which provides high torque for navigating hilly or muddy terrain. Coupled with powerful braking systems, 175mm ground clearance, and electronic power steering, the vehicles offer all-terrain performance.
