Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Launches OBD2 Compliant 2023 SP125 & Activa125

Two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the OBD2 Compliant variants of its two new models - the 2023 SP125 and Activa125 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

2023 Activa125

The new Activa125 gets the BSVI OBD2 compliant Honda’s 25cc PGM-FI engine, boosted by Enhanced Smart Power (eSP). 

The 2023 Activa125 is equipped with features like Digi-Analog Instrument Cluster (Drum Alloy, Disc & H-Smart variant) that provides additional information like Total Trip, Clock, ECO Indicator and Service Due Indicator with and other fuel efficiency related information, LED headlamps, a telescopic suspension system, Combi-Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer, 3-step adjustable rear suspension, Fuel Efficient tyres which are specially developed by Honda with a new tyre compound technology. 

The Honda ACG starter also ensures comfortable frequent operation of Idling Stop System (Disc & H-Smart Variant). The Idling Stop System automatically switches the engine off at the traffic light and other brief stops, eliminating unnecessary fuel consumption and resulting in lesser emission. Engine can easily be re-started with a simple twist of the throttle.

Side Stand with Engine Inhibitor (Drum Alloy, Disc & H-Smart variant) prevents engine start while the side stand is engaged enabling a convenient and carefree ride.

The 2023 Activa125 has a unique Two Lid Fuel Opening System and 18L of storage space. The H-Smart variant comes with a Lock Mod which facilitates 5 in 1 function (lock handle, ignition OFF, fuel lid open, seat open & ignition ON) without the need to insert physical key. Honda Activa125 comes with a Spacious NEW Open Front Glove Box which gives you additional storage space.

Activa125 will be available in four variants (Smart, Disc, Drum Alloy and Drum) and 5 colour options (Pearl Night Start Black, Heavy Gray Metallic (Not available in Drum variant), Rebel Red Metallic, Pearl Precious White & Mid Night Blue Metallic).

The 2023 Honda Activa 125 also gets Honda's New Smart Key which incorporates the following features:

♦ Smart Find: Answer back system in smart key assists in easily locating the vehicle. When the answer back button is pressed on the Honda SMART Key, all 4 winkers will blink twice to locate the scooter.

♦ Smart Unlock: The Smart key System is a newer technology feature that makes it possible to lock and unlock the vehicle without using a physical key. In case the system detects no activity for 20 seconds after activation, the scooter automatically gets deactivated. 

♦ Smart Start: If the smart key is within the range of 2 meters of the vehicle, then the rider can smoothly start the vehicle by rotating the knob on the Loc Mod to ignition position and push the start button without even taking out the key. 

♦ Smart Safe: Activa125 has Mapped Smart ECU which acts as a security device by electronically matching (ID) between the ECU and SMART Key, therefore preventing vehicle theft. The smart key has an immobilizer system which prevents a non-registered key from starting the engine. Without a secure connection with Smart Key, Immobilizer System is not activated.

2023 SP125

The 2023 SP 125 ticks BSVI OBD2 compliant Honda’s trusted 125cc PGM-FI engine, boosted by Enhanced Smart Power (eSP). The SP125 is a sporty commuter motorcycle designed for those who seek a thrilling riding experience. The SP125 comes with features such as LED headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, and New Wider 100mm rear tyre with Integrated Headlamp beam & passing switch.

The modern headlamp design and 5-spoke split alloy wheels add to the active and sporty character of the 2023 SP 125. The two-way functioning switch can be used to start the engine when pressed downwards and acts as an engine kill switch when pressed upward. The 2023 SP 125 comes with a 5-speed transmission and 5-step adjustable rear suspension. It also comes with seal chain which needs less frequent adjustments and low maintenance. Making every ride on new SP 125 comfortable and convenient, is the Combi-Brake System (CBS) with equalizer.

2023 SP 125 will be available in two variants (Drum & Disc) and 5 colours (Black, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue & New Mat Marvel Blue Metallic).

The ceremony was conducted in the presence of Tsutsumu Otani - President, CEO & Managing Director, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), Vinay Dhingra – Senior Director, HR, Administration, IT & Corporate Affairs, Katsuyuki Ozawa - Director, HR, Administration ,IT & Corporate Affairs, HMSI, Takeshi Kobayashi – Director, Sales & Marketing, HMSI, Yogesh Mathur – Director, Sales & Marketing, HMSI, along with other senior officials from HMSI. 

The dignitaries also inaugurated the new Zonal office in Lucknow. The Lucknow Zonal office is a part of HMSI’s Rupantar project and is equipped with the latest digital technology that enables virtual training with a real-time experience. The new office will further enhance the technical skills at the dealership level, adding to better customer service. 

Furthermore, reaching closer to the customers in Uttar Pradesh, the availability of 2023 SP125 and Activa125 is a significant step for HMSI as it continues to expand its product portfolio and enhance its presence in the state while serving its valued customers with more than 655 touchpoints.
