Jlr India Unleashes Its E-Firepower With I-Pace At Rs. 1.05 Crore

The Jaguar I-Pace (stylized as "I-PACE"), a battery-electric crossover SUV produced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), has finally arrived on Indian shores. The brand's first all-electric offering will be available at a starting price of ₹ 1.05 crore for the S trim, with the SE trim priced at ₹ 1.08 crore, and ₹ 1.12 crore for the range-topping HSE trim. The British subsidiary of Tata Motors, under their Jaguar marque, is providing a battery warranty of 8 years/1.60 lakh km, a 5-year service package, 5 years roadside assistance, and a 7.4kW AC wall box charger. The SUV follows the CBU route to the Indian market and the deliveries of the I-Pace have recently commenced. The I-Pace marks a new direction for the automaker that recently announced its plans to go all-electric by 2025.

Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL) stated, “Jaguar I-Pace is the first all-electric SUV that we’ve launched in India and it marks the beginning of our electrification journey. With our electrified products, we look forward to playing a significant role in India’s electrification drive into the future. Jaguar I-Pace will appeal to people who look for and purchase the latest in technology and design, to express their personalities and stay ahead of the curve. We and our retailer network are fully prepared to cater to the demands of these customers.”

It may be recalled that while I-Pace was announced in March 2018, European deliveries began in June 2018, North American deliveries started in October 2018, and Indian deliveries began in March 2021.  The battery-electric crossover is the first electric SUV from a premium European automaker. In its first year, the I-Pace became one of the most highly decorated production cars ever, winning 62 international awards.  The product is also the second electric SUV to go on sale in the luxury car segment and will be taking on Mercedes-Benz EQC, soon-to-be-launched Audi e-Tron, upcoming Porsche Taycan, as well as the Tesla Model X (subject to its availability).

The Jaguar I-PACE is powered by a 90-kWh battery that delivers 394bhp power and 696 Nm torque, allowing the I-PACE to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, with AWD. Internationally, Jaguar claims 470 km range in the WLTP cycle, so expect around 300-350 km in normal use.
