Ahead of the Auto Expo, Kia India has previewed the upcoming EV9 electric concept SUV. The EV9 electric concept from Kia was originally displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2021, and it will make its debut in India at the Auto Expo in 2023. By the end of 2023, the new electric SUV is anticipated to begin production worldwide. The E-GMP platform will support it as Kia positions it as the brand's flagship EV product. The Kia EV9 will have a 3,100 mm long wheelbase with dimensions of 4,929 mm long, 2,055 mm wide, and 1,790 mm tall.
The instrument panel and infotainment touchscreen are designed as a single-piece twin-screen configuration, giving the Kia EV9's interior a very simple appearance. Most likely, the cabin will be covered in eco-friendly materials. Along with having three rows of seats, it will also have amenities like an ambient lighting system, a big panoramic sunroof, and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
The 77.4 kWh battery pack, which is also the largest of the two battery packs provided on the smaller EV6, is anticipated to be included with the forthcoming Kia EV9. Rapid charging is made possible by the 800V electrical architecture of the E-GMP platform. The battery needs about 20 minutes to quickly charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent. Both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations are anticipated.
