South Korean car maker, Kia has unveiled its most anticipated car, the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift in India. The new Seltos gets new features along with design changes in the exterior and interiors.
Powered by Smartstream G1.5 T-GDi Petrol engine, generating a commanding 160ps of power and 253 Nm of Torque, Kia India now offers the most powerful engine in the rapidly growing mid-SUV segment.
This engine comes combined with the state-of-the-art 6-iMT & 7 DCT transmissions, and you have an ideal city SUV that gives the joy of driving a manual without the hassle of engaging the clutch manually.
In addition to this turbo engine, the 2023 Kia Seltos continues to be available with the Smartstream G1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5l CRDi VGT Diesel Engine. Mated with 5 transmission options, MT, iMT, IVT, 6AT, and 7DCT, the All-New Seltos is available in 18 variants.The new Seltos is now equipped with Level 2 ADAS with 17 features, which also comes in its premium electric car - EV6 in India. Combined with additional 15 safety features (Standard across the range), the new Seltos boasts 32 safety features.
Some new features on the new Kia Seltos include Dual Screen Panoramic Display with 26.04 cm Fully Digital Cluster & 26.03 cm HD Touchscreen Navigation, Dual Zone Fully Automatic Air Conditioner, and R18 46.20 cm Crystal Cut Glossy Black Alloy Wheels, Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof and Electric Parking Brake.
With a muscular and sportier look, the crown jewel LED Headlamps and LED Connected tail lamps are powered by the Kia Signature Star map lighting concept.
Seltos is one of the biggest brands for Kia Corporation with 1 out of every 10 Kia cars sold globally being a Seltos. The new Seltos will grow the mid-SUV segment by reinventing and revamping it with its best-in-segment features and stunning design. Seltos brand currently contributes 55 per cent to Kia India’s overall sales.
Building on this success, Kia India also unveiled a new transformation journey – Kia 2.0. Under Kia 2.0, the company has set ambitious targets, including attaining a 10 per cent market share, and doubling the existing network of touchpoints from 300+ to around 600.
On the big reveal, Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, said, "Seltos is the product with which we entered India, and since then, the journey of Kia India and the Seltos has been almost identical. We have a segment disruptor and a segment winner in the new Seltos and are confident to take forward the strong legacy of the Brand Seltos to lead the premium RV market. This strategic launch is key to our India ambitions of attaining 10 per cent market share soon."
The New Seltos now comes in 8 Monotone, 2 dual tones and Xclusive Matte Graphite colours. The colour option includes the newly launched Pewter Olive colour while the other options are, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Clear White, Sparkling Silver, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Xclusive Matt Graphite (X-Line), Glacier White Pearl + Aurora Black Pearl, and Intense Red + Aurora Black Pearl.Replacing the semi-digital instrument cluster on the previous model, the new Seltos features a large Dual Screen panoramic display with a 26.03 cm (10.25”) HD Touchscreen Navigation System and an all-new Full Digital Cluster with a 26.04 cm (10.25”) Color LCD MID display.
Additionally, the existing segment-defining features are Smart 20.32 cm (8.0”) Heads Up Display, Ventilated Seats with 8-Way Power Driver’s Seat, Bose Premium Sound System with 8 Speakers, Smart Pure Air Purifier with Virus and Bacteria Protection and 360 Degree Camera with Blind View monitor in the cluster.
Kia might reveal the prices of the 2023 Kia Seltos towards July end or August first week.
