Mahindra & Mahindra, Indian SUV maker has recalled more than 19,000 units of the Scorpio-N and the XUV700 SUVs. This recall is for the car manufactured between the first of July and 11 November 2022.
Dealerships will contact the SUV owners individually and if any fault is found then the company will repair the issue without any additional charges.
A batch of 6618 Scorpio-N manual transmission vehicles and a batch of 12,566 XUV700 manual transmission vehicles are included in the recall in order to inspect the rubber bellow inside bell housing.
Both the SUVs, XUV 700 and Scorpio-N has been successful cars for the company and has massive demand numbers. The Scorpio-N was launched in Indian market on 14 July, with five variants named as Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L.
Both the 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine and the 2.0-liter mStallion turbo-petrol engine are offered for the Scorpio-N. The petrol engine, meanwhile, is tuned to generate 200 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The mHawk diesel will have 400 Nm of torque and 175 PS of power. Diesel models with less power will have 132 PS. The transmission options will be 6-speed automatic and manual transmissions. Mahindra provides a touchscreen infotainment system, second-row AC vents, and steering audio controls even in the cheapest Z2 model (petrol). Penta Link Suspension with WATT's Linkage, LED taillamps, indicators, and both.
The XUV 700 was introduced in India in September 2021. It comes with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions and is powered by either petrol or diesel engines. The four trim lines for the XUV700 are MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7. On the AX7 model, which is only available in seven-seater configurations, a luxury pack may be purchased. The luxury pack will include features like Sony's 3D Sound, Smart Door Handles that are electrically deployed, Blind View Monitoring, 360-degree Surround View, Electronic Park Brake, and Wireless Charging.
