Maruti Suzuki India Unveils Next Generation Ertiga: Prices, Specification & Other Features

After more than a month of teasers, Maruti Suzuki India has unveiled the next generation car of its popular MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) Ertiga. The new Ertiga comes with a few minor changes on the inside and the outside. 

The key highlight about this MPV is that it gets an all-new K-series 1.5-litre Dual Jet petrol engine which is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifters which is the first in any Maruti Suzuki model. The paddle shifters are mounted on the steering wheel of the automatic variants, which lets you shift gear with your thumbs giving a more convenient driving experience. 

Engine 

The new 1.5-litre petrol engine delivers a peak power of 75.8kW at 6000rpm and a maximum torque of 136.8Nm at 4400rpm. 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in both petrol and CNG options which will deliver a mileage of 20.51 km per litre on petrol and 26.11 km per kg on the CNG version. As before the 5-speed manual gearbox also comes as standard in the Ertiga.

Design

On the exterior, one can’t see any noticeable changes on the new Ertiga; just a few minor changes have been done on the front grille, alloy wheels, and tailgate. In the interiors, the noticeable changes include dual-tone seat fabric and a new dashboard that gets a metallic teakwood finish.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in six colour options with two new colours to choose from - silver and brown.

Features

The top-spec Ertiga is equipped with some new features like a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, auto headlamps, a CNG specific speedometer in S-CNG variants, dual front airbags (4 airbags), ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors and a speed alert system. 

The new Ertiga offers more than 40 connected car features. Now the MPV can be remotely accessed through a compatible smartwatch & voice connectivity through the Suzuki Connect skill for Amazon Alexa. 

Price

The next-generation Ertiga is available at a starting price of Rs. 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom) and one can own this via their subscription platform also by paying a monthly fee of Rs. 18,600 for the petrol and Rs. 22,400 for the CNG model.
