MG has launched the facelift of Hector, the car with which MG debuted in India in 2017. MG Hector’s facelift was a much-awaited launch because now there are a lot of rivals for Hector in the market. MG has loaded the car with a new texture and interior.
The Next-Gen Hector, which is being offered in 5, 6, and 7-seater configurations, offers intelligently designed seating options, plush interiors, and ample space.
The company has changed the interior interface by introducing a big 14-inch portrait HD touchscreen in the car and a 7-inch digital instrumental cluster along with a 4-way power passenger seat, an automatic powered tailgate, LED ambient lights with voice control, and expanded 8-colour ambient lighting. One can feel the premiums in the interior after stepping into the car.
Hector’s exterior has changed a bit with a new diamond pattern grille, and a much bigger bumper in front as well as in the back. In terms of side design, the car is bit the same as earlier. Other features such as a digital key with key sharing have been introduced in the car along with ADAS autonomous Level 2 with traffic jam assist, HD 360 camera view, panoramic sunroof with new touchscreen controls, and walk away lock/approach unlock. In front new intelligent auto turn indicator and in the back new led connected blade tail lamps are now there with a badging of ADAS in the back.
Based on the steering angle, the respective indicator light automatically gets On/Off. This automatic signal will be useful when the driver fails to put on the indicator while entering the road from a parking space or during a U-turn.
Moreover, the Next-Gen Hector now has more than 75 connected features including 100 voice commands, thanks to the revolutionary i-SMART technology that combines hardware, software, connectivity, services, and applications for smarter, enjoyable drives.
MG as of now has kept the powertrain details of the Hector 2023 under wraps, but as MG has not touched the car much from the exterior so it can be expected the powertrains will be untouched too. Same 1.5-litre petrol engine with a capacity of producing a torque of 250Nm and power of 143 bhp and a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing a torque of 350Nm and power of 170 bhp paired with a 6-speed manual gear.
MG will be unveiling all information about the Hector facelift at the Auto Expo 2023. Expected price for the car is in the range of Rs. 14.5 lakh to Rs. 21 lakh (ex-showroom).
