Tata Motors has announced another addition to its electric vehicle lineup on the occasion of World EV Day. Tiago EV is going to be in the market in the upcoming months. The concept of Tiago EV was shown for the first time at an event in the UK and later at the Auto Expo of the year 2018.
Tiago EV will be based on the concept of Tigor EV and have similarities with it. So far the specifications of Tiago EV have not been revealed yet.
Tigor has a motor of 41bhp which can generate a torque of 105 nm. The motor will be available with two battery pack options which are a 16.5kWh version that does 165km of claimed range and a 21.5kWh iteration that is good for 213km of claimed range on the X- Press T EV.
The third and more powerful version of the Tigor EV is the Ziptorn architecture with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor which produces 75hp and generates 170 nm of torque. And it comes with a 26kWh lithium-ion battery pack which allows fast charging and has a range of 360 km per charge.
Tata claimed that they will make Tiago EV the most affordable electric car.
Tiago EV can be a game changer not for Tata but also for the EV auto market. It is expected that Tata will disclose the specifications of the cars in the upcoming months.
