Tata Nexon EV Max: Know Price, Specifications & Features

Domestic carmaker, Tata Motors has launched the long-range version of the Nexon EV named, the Nexon EV Max. As the name goes, the Nexon EV Max is now packed with a bigger Lithium-ion battery of 40.5kWh which delivers a range of 437 km on a single charge. The range is ARAI certified.

The exterior of the Nexon EV Max looks almost identical to the Nexon EV. The main highlight of this electric compact SUV is the central console in the interior which has undergone a significant revamp and gets a new design. It features a jewelled control knob with an active mode display. Other changes include the new beige interiors, leatherette seats with ventilation for front passengers, air purifier, wireless smartphone charging, auto-dimming IRVM and cruise control. 

The Nexon EV Max produces 143 PS of power and delivers a torque of 250 Nm. The company says this electric compact SUV can attain a speed of 0 to 100 km per hour in under 9 seconds.

The new Nexon EV Max is powered by high voltage state-of-the-art Ziptron technology and will be available in two trim options – the Nexon EV Max XZ+ and Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux with an option of a 3.3 kW charger and a 7.2 kW AC fast charger as well. 

The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be installed either at home or at the workplace which reduces the charging time to 6.5 hours. Tata says the electric compact SUV will also support a faster charging time of 0 - 80% in just 56 mins from any 50 kW DC fast charger. 

There are three driving modes on the electric compact SUV – eco, city and sport and gets eight new features on the ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology. With Nexon EV Max, Tata Motors is also introducing a multi-mode regen feature that will help customers to easily adjust the level of regenerative braking through switches on the floor console. 

Customers can choose between four regen levels based on the driving conditions: Level 0 with nil recuperative braking, going up to the highest Level 3 aiding single-pedal driving. The Company has also added a new feature called auto brake lamps which gets activated once a certain level of regen is achieved which helps to alert fellow motorists. 

Other features on the Nexon EV Max include ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), hill hold, hill descent control, electronic parking brake with auto vehicle hold and four-disc brakes. The electric compact SUV is IP67 rated.

Tata Nexon EV Max XZ+ is priced at Rs. 17.74 lakh with a 3.3 kW charger while Rs. 18.24 lakh with 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The Nexon EV MAX XZ+ Lux is available at a price of Rs. 18.74 lakh with 3.3 kW charger and Rs. 19.24 lakh with 7.2 kW AC fast charger. All prices are as per ex-showroom India.

The electric compact SUV is available in three colour options– Teal (exclusive to the Nexon EV Max), Grey and White. Dual-tone body colour will be offered as a standard.
