BYD Unveils EV Atto 3; Booking Starts At Rs 50,000
The Atto 3 electric SUV has been formally unveiled by BYD Auto in India. For a token fee of Rs. 50,000, the business has begun taking reservations for the SUV; the first 500 units will start to arrive in January 2023. After the 2021 debut of the BYD E6 electric MPV, it will be the Chinese automaker's second electric passenger vehicle. However, this one will be sold to private buyers as opposed to the E6, which was marketed at the fleet segment. Only one top-spec variation of the new BYD Atto 3 is available in India, and it has a 60.48 kWh BYD BladeBattery (LFP) with a stated range of 521 km. However, we anticipate the actual range to be shorter.
The new BYD Atto 3 is constructed on the organization's e-Platform 3.0, which was created specifically for all-electric vehicles. The battery pack of the electric SUV can be charged from 0% to 80% in 50 minutes using DC fast charging, as opposed to 9.5 to 10 hours using an AC charger. A permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates about 150 kW, or 201 bhp, and 310 Nm of peak torque is included with the Atto 3. A single-speed automatic transmission that drives the SUV's front wheels is included with the vehicle.
The BYD Atto 3 crossover SUV is sculpted in appearance, with chrome highlights and pronounced character lines. The slim, angular headlamps and lower bumper vents that help to cool the electric running gear are connected by a thick band of chrome that defines the nose. The bumper also has numerous cooling vents and a false skid plate, and at the back, the taillights form a full-length light bar. Additionally, the SUV has a set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin also features a contemporary design and premium materials. The SUV has a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument panel, and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be adjusted for a portrait or landscape perspective. The Atto 3 also includes a level 2 ADAS BYD Dipilot, seven airbags, a 360-degree view monitor, a wireless charger, a one-touch automatic tailgate, an eight-speaker audio system, power seats, an NFC card key, and Vehicle to Load (V2L). The SUV also includes a CN95 air filter, a PM 2.5 air filter, and ambient lighting that changes to the beat of the music.
The BYD is also promoting a package that includes a 7 kW home charger with installation, a 3 kW portable charging box, 3 years of free 4G data, 6 years of roadside assistance, and 6 other complimentary services.
