Since the SUV has been taken down from Maruti Suzuki's official Nexa website, the SUV's removal from the Indian market is now officially verified. The Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki's most recent mid-size SUV, has lately taken over as the brand's most upscale crossover/SUV in India, replacing the S-Cross, which was introduced in the nation back in 2015.
The Grand Vitara, XL6, Ciaz, Baleno, and Ignis are the only five products currently available on the Nexa website. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross felt a little out of date in a market dominated by vehicles like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos; therefore, replacing it with the vastly more contemporary Grand Vitara seems like the right course of action.
The S-Cross entered its third generation in other markets around a year ago, but it doesn't appear that Maruti Suzuki wants to release the latest model of the SUV in India given that it would now overlap with the Grand Vitara.
Instead, Maruti Suzuki is now working on a Baleno-based, slightly smaller crossover/SUV. Although the "Baleno Cross" has been spotted testing numerous times, the manufacturer has not yet announced a debut date. Naturally, it will be positioned above the Baleno, and like the company's premium hatch, it will be sold through its upscale Nexa dealerships.
