Maruti Suzuki Clocks Over Three Fold Increase In Sales In June 21

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) has reported a total sales of 1,47,368 units in  the month of June 2021, more than 3 times the the 46,555 units it sold in May 21. Last year in June, the company had reported sales of 57,428 units.

In a statement released to the media the company said – “Sales in June 2020 and May 2021 were impacted by Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns.”

In the month of June 21, The total domestic sales figure for the company stands at 130,348 units, Sales to other OEMS (Toyota Kirloskar Motors – Urban Cruiser and Glanza) were reported to be at 4152 units while exports accounted for 17,020 units.

With this India’s Largest Carmaker – Maruti Suzuki closes the first quarter of FY22 with 297,118 units of domestics sales, 10,977 units of sales to other OEMS, and 45,519 units of exports leading to a total sales for Q1 FY22 at 353,614 units.

“Sales in Quarter 1 of both FY20-21 and FY21-22 have been far from normal owing to COVID-19 related lockdowns and disruptions and hence any comparison would not be very meaningful.” said the company in a statement released to the media
