Suzuki Gixxer Cup Marks Its 5th season
Suzuki Gixxer Cup season five starts at Kari Motor Speedway. Bangalore’s Syed Muzammil Ali clinched the No. 1 position at Round 1 of Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019 giving a tough fight to Tanay Gaikwad. Notably, for the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup, Ikshan Shanbag grabbed the first position by giving a befitting chase to other riders on the track.
For Race 1 of Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019, Bangalore’s Syed Muzammil Ali was first to cross the finish line followed by Pune's Tanay Gaikwad and Coimbatore’s Sidharth Sajan respectively. Continuing the winning streak, Syed Muzammil Ali wrapped up the Race 2 in 14:19.609 time. Followed by Tanay Gaikwad (14:25.458) on the second and Sidharth Sajan (14:27.480) on the third position.
In the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup, the race was equally challenging where Ikshan Shanbag of Satara emerged as a winner with a record-breaking 10-lap time during Race 1. Whereas, Aryan Gaurav from Pune and Aditi Krishnana from Bangalore finished at second and third position at the end of 9 laps.
For Race 2, while Ikshan Shanbagh continued to dominate the racetrack and successfully secured No. 1 position by concluding 10 laps in 15:01.223 minutes. The second and third spot was held by Chennai’s Prashanth R (14:34.988 ) and Pune’s Aryan Gurav (14:35.073) respectively after completing 9 laps.
The championship is organized under the aegis of FIM and Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI), in association with JK Tyre Motorsports. After the thrilling Round 1, Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019 is all geared for Round 2, to be held from Aug 31 – Sep 01 at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore.
