According to Tata Motors, its lineup of SUVs and automobiles now complies with the impending, stricter Bharat Stage 6 Phase 2 standards. The updated standards go into effect in April 2022. Aside from the Phase 2 update, Tata claims that its engines are now E20 certified, meaning they can now operate on a 20 per cent petrol-ethanol blend. Additionally, the company has added a few new features and made some small improvements to its model lineup, including performance modifications.
The engines of the Altroz and Punch have been modified, according to Tata, for better manoeuvrability at low engine speeds. The company claims that the improvement will smooth out the driving experience. Both cars come fitted with an engine idle start-stop capability. According to Tata, the revised engines have lower levels of NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness).
The Nexon diesel has also undergone performance improvements, and the company has also covertly unveiled two new top-spec models, the XZ+ Lux and XZ+ Luxs. The new XZ+ Lux variant comes equipped with features like ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, an air purifier, iRA-linked car technology, auto headlights and wipers, and cruise control, and costs as little as Rs 11.59 lakh (ex-showroom). While the XZ+ Luxs adds a sunroof to the equation. The model is offered with a manual or AMT transmission with both petrol and diesel engine choices.
A new tire pressure monitoring system has been updated for the Tiago and Tigor in the interim. The automaker also revealed a new warranty package for its lineup of cars, increasing the basic warranty from two years or 75,000 kilometres to three years or one lakh kilometres.
