The two-wheelers manufacturers have approached the government regarding the shortage of ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), according to the report by CNBC. The ABS is safety equipment that prevents the wheels of a vehicle from locking up under emergency, panic, or harsh braking conditions. Actually, it stops the tyre in fractions instead of sudden braking and that helps to regain control over the vehicle.
The report further states that Manufacturers are facing a supply issue with the ABS component and it could impact the production in the upcoming two-three months. Earlier, automakers also raised the issue of an inadequate supply of semiconductors.
Writing to the Government, Two-Wheelers manufacturers requested to initiate the talks with the suppliers of ABS. The manufacturers also demanded the ease of customs clearance for semiconductors and ABS components.
Moreover, the report claim that Bajaj Auto is getting only 70% of ABS supply whereas Royal Enfield is also getting less supply of ABS components from the last two months.
