Mahindra has introduced the XUV400, its first-ever electric SUV, in response to the rising demand for EVs in the nation. The manufacturer began taking reservations for the electric SUV on January 26, 2023, after it was introduced on January 16. Surprisingly, over the prolonged Republic Day weekend, the XUV400 passed a milestone of more than 10,000 bookings across 34 locations in India.
Since its release, the XUV400 has received over 15,000 orders from customers in just over 13 days. It was also mentioned by the brand that it would take about seven months to deliver all of the orders.
The Mahindra XUV400 can be reserved for Rs 21,000 as a deposit. The EL variant will start receiving delivery in March 2023, while the EC variant will start receiving deliveries around the upcoming Diwali festival. Mahindra also intends to start shipping the XUX400's first 20,000 units this year.
A 34.5kWh battery pack with a 375km range and a 39.4kWh battery pack with a 456km range will power the XUV400. The 39.4kWh type only receives the 7.2kWh charger, whereas the former will be available with 3.3kW and 7.2kW chargers.
The Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona, and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are competitors of the XUV400.
