Zypp Electric Partners BigBasket, Grofers, And Spencers For Last-Mile Delivery

Zypp Electric has announced its partnership with 20+ grocery, e-retail & food tech players, including BigBasket, Grofers, Modern Bazaar, Spencers and many more. The last-mile EV delivery service provider has deployed 1000+ trained professionals to cater to the wide-ranging needs of the segment.

With India exhibiting markers of enormous growth in the e-retail segment, the demand for last-mile delivery services is bound to skyrocket. However, a few use cases such as grocery deliveries typically require an executive to not only deliver the product but also cross-check said products and deal with customers first-hand. This requires trained professionals with good communication skills rather than unskilled delivery personnel. Additionally, grocery deliveries require eco-friendly vehicles that can transport heavy packages without lengthy turnaround times. This is where Zpp Electric has made a massive difference.

Zypp has developed a fleet of e-scooters that can carry weight of upto 200 kgs. The company even has a team of highly-skilled delivery personnels who are capable of effectively communicating with customers. Zypp has also set up over 50 battery swapping stations to ensure that turnaround times are no more than a few minutes. Furthermore, between Apr to Dec’20 the company’s EVs have removed 2115020 Kgs of carbon pollution from the air. All of the fleet and riders are tech enabled for efficient and timely delivery thereby giving a flawless experience to the end customers.

Speaking on the same, Akash Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO - Zypp Electric, said, “Grocery delivery is new and an interesting segment with specific demand of a robust fleet, time-bound delivery and heavy loads. At Zypp, we are constantly connecting with like-minded entities to further the idea of large-scale EV deployment for fleet operations throughout the country. We have created special solutions catered to the grocery segment. Our partnership with BigBasket, Grofers, and Spencers is a huge step towards our goal. We endeavor to expand our services to other cities as well and partner with organizations, businesses, kirana stores from all regions to take the idea of a carbon-free India forward.”

Established in 2017, the company currently has a fleet of over 1500 EVs and is operational in major cities including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Jaipur. The company aims at continual expansion, further disrupting the last-mile delivery industry via the widespread use of EVs across the country.
