Germany's luxury car company BMW has introduced a Mini Convertible Special Edition in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs 44.9 lakhs (ex-showroom). The mini convertible sidewalk edition will come as a fully built unit (CBU) and only 15 of its units will be available for sale in India. Booking of this model can be done at Mini's online store.
The Mini Convertible's sidewalk edition is based on the first edition introduced in 2007. Its interior and exterior have been incorporated into the new design. Featuring a new deep Laguna metallic exterior paint, geometric pattern of the soft-top electric roof, two-tone specially designed 17-inch alloy wheels, leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel.
Under the hood, it gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin power turbo engine that generates a maximum power of 189 bhp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. It also gets a 7-speed Steptronic sport transmission unit at the rear of the steering, paddled with a double-clutch. The drive mode available on the MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition can be customized for ride comfort, sportiness, or mileage.
In terms of features, it includes front and passenger airbags, Brake Assist (BA), Dynamic stability control (DSC), Crash sensor, ABS, Cornering brake control (CBC) and Run-Flat indicator. In addition, an auto start/stop function, brake energy recurrence and the car can be additionally purchased with an 'Excitation Package'.
