Gulf Oil India & CSK Completes Longest Ever Franchise-Sponsor Association In IPL

Gulf Oil India completes 10 years of partnership with IPL team CSK this season that starts on 19th September 2020 – the longest for any sponsor-franchise association in the history of IPL. Gulf Oil India started its IPL journey 11 years ago with team KXIP and then moved to be partnered with CSK in 2011 as its Associate Sponsors, the same year it also signed Captain Cool, MS Dhoni as the company’s brand ambassador.

Gulf Oil & CSK unveiled a special commemorative 10th-anniversary jersey with a video featuring players – MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, Du Plessis, Murali Vijay and Shane Watson passing on the jersey to each other.

This partnership has catalyzed the growth of Gulf in the Southern region of India & Tamil Nadu in particular for the brand. With this partnership, strong inroads in markets right across India have been made year on year and this has enhanced the perception of the brand in the minds of customers and partners across the country, the company said.

Ravi Chawla, MD & CEO, Gulf Oil India said, “IPL 2020 is going to be even more special for its millions of passionate followers merely because of the tenacity of the longest lockdown that we have ever experienced in India and across the world. Although the fans may not be able to watch the action in the stadium, we feel that a combination of the digital adoption behaviour & aspiration to see their favourite players back in action will keep the fans glued more than ever. Both Gulf Oil & CSK will be focussed, more than ever, on working together to develop our campaigns for this season that will be innovative and impactful as we adapt to the changes. Our Mantra will be to find the new ways forward, to excite & engage the consumers/fans in the best possible manner”.

KS Viswanathan, CEO, CSK said, “Both the brands share a common culture that’s driven by passion to move forward. We greatly value our partnership with Gulf Oil and are delighted to reach the milestone of a decade-long relationship”.
