Hero Motocorp Hands Over 70 Motorcycles And Scooters To Haryana Government For Front-Line Health Workers

Hero MotoCorp Ltd, the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, handed over 70 two-wheelers to Haryana Government at the launch of Project ‘Corona Warriors on Wheels’ today. 

Hero MotoCorp handed over 50 units of Hero Xtreme 160R motorcycles and 20 units of Hero Destini 125 scooters to the Director-General of Health Services, Haryana. These vehicles will be allocated to the health workers including doctors and medical staff for community service across the state.

Flagged off by Guest of Honour Dr. Veena Singh, MD, Director General Health Services, Haryana, and Mr. Subhas Sudha, Honorable MLA (Thanesar) - the aim of the initiative is to rapidly expand measures across the state for strengthening their healthcare system and response to COVID-19. 

Hero MotoCorp two-wheelers will be used by front-line health workers engaged in COVID-19 related work to provide door-to-door medical services including testing, sanitization, counseling, and mobile vaccination across the city. 

Receiving the vehicles, Dr Veena Singh, MD, Director General Health Services, Haryana said “These motorcycles and scooters will prove to be an advantage in our fight against COVID-19 and we are grateful to Hero MotoCorp for extending their support to us. This initiative will go a long way in our fight to stop COVID-19 across the state and widen the scope of our relief activities for the affected people in the district. HERO MOTOCORP’S COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS IN HARYANA –

  • Hero MotoCorp has so far donated six specially designed First Responder Vehicles (FRVs) to various health departments
  • Partnered with Gurugram district administration to strengthen their healthcare system with a 100 bed fully-equipped Covid Care Centre 
  • Provided its motorcycles and scooters for safe, personal commuting by health workers and medical staff
  • The company also contributed oxygen cylinders for emergency medical use to a few hospitals in Haryana and has been donating PPE Kits to the health authorities in various states for health workers
