Raising positive awareness on road safety and safe driving habits in the city, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India marked the 9th anniversary of the Traffic Training Park at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, CP, New Delhi, in the presence of Shashank Jaiswal, IPS (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Road Safety Cell, Delhi Traffic Police).
The second traffic training park in New Delhi opened its doors in November 2014, with the collaboration of Delhi Traffic Police and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). The traffic park, which is based on the mini-city concept, replicates authentic road features like speed breakers, zebra crossings, and traffic signals.
Promoting road safety awareness in the city, HMSI reported that it has trained over a quarter of a million people in New Delhi through its daily trainings for all age groups. estimating more than 52,000 new and current riders, both male and female, and almost three lakh children.
CSR commitment to road safety
As revealed in April 2021, Honda committed to striving for zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050. Since its founding in 2001, HMSI has promoted road safety in India as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Currently, HMSI's road safety awareness campaign has reached over 57 lakh Indians, contributing to the realisation of Honda's global safety vision.
Its team of skilled safety instructors delivers daily programmes at its 10 adopted traffic parks across India and six Safety Driving Education Centres (SDEC).
In addition, HMSI's more than 1000 dealerships throughout India promote traffic safety awareness. Predelivery safety advice, or PDSA, is provided to new customers at every dealership in India before they begin riding, and HMSI's in-house virtual riding simulator enhances riders' capacity to anticipate risks.
