Hyundai To Show Case Ioniq 5 Electric Crossover In Auto Expo 23

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover has been announced by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) for release in India. A preliminary debut date has been set for the 2023 Auto Expo. The company's Hyundai Kona Electric will be joined by the next Hyundai Ioniq 5, which will be the first vehicle to be built on the E-GMP Platform, which also supports the Kia EV6. Hyundai will introduce its specialized BEV Platform E-GMP in the nation with the new Ioniq 5, which will give birth to its future electric vehicles.

The E-GMP dedicated BEV platform for next electric vehicles was unveiled by Hyundai Motor Group in a global demonstration, inauguration a new era for the company. Hyundai will lead the development of future electric vehicles with this specialised BEV platform, which is currently making its way to India with the Hyundai IONIQ 5. Hyundai is driving the pump-to-plug revolution.

The new E-GMP platform consists of a vehicle chassis with a power electric system, a motor, and a battery. The battery system includes a cutting-edge battery pack with a long range, and the high-voltage battery can power a variety of electrical gadgets thanks to the bi-directional charging port. An integrated charging control unit (ICCU) is another component of the E-GMP platform that charges both the high-voltage battery and the auxiliary battery. E-GMP can create the framework for vehicles with various body shapes thanks to its modular DNA, and thanks to its inventive interior packaging, the vehicles will have a level floor, a small cockpit, and a flexible yet roomy cabin.

According to Hyundai, the E-GMP has been engineered to give superior handling, better cornering performance, and increased driving stability at high speeds. This is made possible by a front-to-rear weight distribution that is ideal. The high-speed electric motor on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a top speed of 185 kmph. The platform can provide greater ride comfort and handling by using a 5-link rear suspension. Furthermore, a 350 kW DC charger powered by E-GMP can charge the electric crossover to 80 percentage capacity in 18 minutes.
