Jeep has opened bookings of its new Grand Cherokee prior the launch of the car on 17 Nov. earlier the SUV was scheduled to be launched on 11 Nov. Jeep has also started assembling its fourth model, Grand Cherokee at its facility in Ranjangaon. Deliveries of this premium SUV are expected to start by the end of Nov.
The Grand Cherokee is sold in two variants at the international market. But in India, the SUV will get only standard five-seater version and not the larger Three row Cherokee L. The car will have features like 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre and a 10.25 inch fully digital instrument cluster. It even get a 10.25 inch touchscreen for the front co-passenger.
The Grand Cherokee also has ADAS technology, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and emergency braking for pedestrians. A panoramic sunroof and luxurious leather upholstery are further highlights.
In India, the previous-generation Grand Cherokee was available with both petrol and diesel engines, but the new version will only be supplied with a single 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. The engine will be connected to an automated transmission with eight speeds. Jeep hasn't yet disclosed the engine's power levels, though. The new SUV has a configurable terrain mode Quadra-Trac I 4x4 System. According to our sources, the new-generation Grand Cherokee would cost around Rs 85 lakh.
