The Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV's fifth generation will debut in India in November 2022. The company's flagship SUV's first official teaser, which announces the launch information, has been released by Jeep India. The latest Grand Cherokee made its debut in September of last year on a worldwide scale. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee will be manufactured in India, just like the company's current models.
Although the design language of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is recognisable, the manufacturer has made a number of improvements. The SUV has a boxier appearance with sharper lines, a revised grille with Jeep's distinctive 7-slot pattern, squared wheel arches, and thinner LED headlights and taillights. The SUV will receive modifications including a Trailhawk version designed specifically for off-road use with Quadra-Lift air suspension technology that lifts the vehicle to provide 287 mm of ground clearance.
With a touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.1-inch display for the digital instrument cluster, the 2018 Grand Cherokee is likewise high-tech. Additionally, a 10.25-inch screen can be ordered for the front passenger in addition to the 10-inch head-up display. The devices perform OTA updates and the UConnect 5 user interface at five times the speed. A rear-seat entertainment system with Amazon Fire TV capabilities is also available.
The firm provides a variety of engines worldwide, including a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 petrol engine with 294 bhp and 348 Nm of maximum torque and a more potent 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 357 bhp and 528 Nm of maximum torque. The new 4xe plug-in hybrid variant, which comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 375 horsepower and 637 Nm of peak torque, is undoubtedly the highlight. A 17 kWh battery pack that has a 40 km electric range supplies the motor with electrical power. The SUV is already available for purchase in the US market, but when it comes to India later in November, it's likely that Jeep will only offer the SUV in petrol form.
