Lexus Announces Judges And Mentors For Lexus Design Award India 2020

Lexus India has announced the list of judges and mentors for the Lexus Design Award India 2020. The design competition, now in its third edition, serves as a platform for both emerging and established designers and creators, whose works can lead to a better future for all. The annual event attracts creative talent from around India who aspire to win the coveted award for innovative design excellence. This edition has seen over 800 original creations entered for a chance to win the prestigious award.

The awards are open to all creative thinkers and designers from across the country. The panel that will decide the finalists and the winners consist of David Nordstrom – Vice President, Lexus Asia Pacific, Satish Gokhale – Co-Founder of Design Directions, Ravi Mokashi Punekar – Professor, Department of Design and Dean (Alumni and External Relations) at IIT Guwahati, Karishma Shahani Khan – Fashion Designer and Founder of KA-SHA Designs, Poonam Bir Kasturi – an industrial designer who is re-imagining waste, and Ayush Kasliwal – Creative Director, CEO AKDPL. 

This year, the award has introduced a new initiative where finalists from the conceptual category will receive mentorship. In the process of mentorship, candidates will receive recommendations and ideas which can greatly influence to refine their projects. To mentor the finalists, Lexus welcomes a stellar ensemble of creative pioneers and industry stalwarts which includes the likes of Michael Foley – Founder Foley Designs, Bangalore, Devika Krishnan – Director - Creative at Sattva Art Craft and Design Pvt Ltd., Bengaluru, Dinesh Korjan – Visiting Professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Anuj Prasad – Founder & CEO, Desmania Design Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, Sapna Behar – Founder Director at IcarusNova, Bengaluru and Unmesh Kulkarni – Director, Honeywell user experiences, Bengaluru.

Following the presentation by each finalist, Lexus Design Award India 2020 culminates with an announcement of the winner on press day, 10th January 2020.
