Toyota Discontinues The Yaris In India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the discontinuation of Yaris in India with effect from 27th Sep 2021. “This move is a part of Toyota’s product strategy to continue to cater to the ever-evolving needs of the customer through enhanced technologies and product offerings. “ the company said in a statement.

The Yaris built on Toyota’s QDR philosophy, failed to set the sales charts on fire, even with first in class 7 airbags protection. The company is currently preparing to launch new Toyota models in the coming new year 2022.

For current Yaris owners, the company said “Toyota will continue to seamlessly cater to all Yaris customers’ needs through our dealer service outlets across the country, along with the promise of availability of Toyota genuine spare parts for minimum next 10 years on this discontinued model.”

Toyota Kirloskar Motors, in India currently have a portfolio of  Innova, Fortuner which are manufactured in India, in plant 1 at Bidadi. Meanwhile Camry Hybrid is manufactured at Plant 2 at the same location. Toyota Vellfire is imported as CBU. The company is collaboration with Maruti Suzuki also sells Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser in the entry level segment.
