Solv, a B2B e-commerce marketplace for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), has announced that it will shift to electric vehicles (EVs) for its delivery services with immediate effect. The company is transitioning towards electric mobility with the launch of Solv EVolve.
Solv’s green logistics initiative EVolve has been piloted in New Delhi and will be launched in phases across multiple cities in India.
Solv will deliver 25 percent of its goods to MSMEs with electric vehicles within a year. The start-up aims to transition 100 percent of its deliveries to EVs in the next 3-5 years.
The company says this move will save expensive fuel costs, keep prices in check for customers and will help arrest inflation.
Commenting on the launch of Solv EVolve, Amit Bansal, CEO of Solv, said “With an estimated USD 800 billion worth of goods moved by the MSME sector in India’s retail sector every year, we hope this move will spur accelerated adoption of more green initiatives in the MSME B2B sector.”
Solv was launched 18 months ago and currently serves MSMEs in consumer segments like grocery & FMCG, apparel, HoReCa, consumer electronics, footwear & accessories and home furnishing across India.
